In a continued effort to enhance air quality for residents, the Paramount City Council moved to expand the Residential Air Purifier and Filter Rebate Program. The March 11 decision reinforces the City’s commitment to a safe, healthy and attractive community. This program, first introduced in 2018, was designed to help residents combat air pollution caused by nearby freeways, railways and the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles — major contributors to airborne pollutants like diesel particulate matter.
By providing financial assistance for air purifiers and filters, the program directly supports cleaner indoor environments, helping residents reduce exposure to harmful particles such as dust, pollen and smoke. With this latest expansion, more residents have access to the tools they need to protect their homes and health.
The approved updates include:
- Increased rebate amounts: Residents can now receive up to $150 for an air purifier (a $50 increase) and $75 for air filters (a $25 increase).
 - Enhanced support for full air filtration systems: Those purchasing both an air purifier and replacement filters together can qualify for a combined rebate up to $200.
 - Extended eligibility period: The purchase window has been expanded from 60 days to 90 days to give residents more time to apply.
 - Stronger financial protections: To ensure funds go directly toward qualifying purchases, gift cards are no longer an eligible form of payment.
